Wallet and Top-ups
Fund your ANK wallet in USD or NPR, redeem a coupon code, and understand what you are paying for before you launch.
Your wallet is what your instances bill against. Keep a balance in it and your workloads keep running; let it run empty and they will not. This page explains how to add funds, what happens after you pay, and where to look when a charge does not look right.
Before you pay
Every configuration in the dashboard shows its hourly rate before you create an instance, so nothing about pricing should be a surprise. Two things are worth knowing up front:
- Usage is billed in USD. Hourly charges come out of your wallet in USD.
- You can fund the wallet in USD or NPR. If you top up in NPR, the conversion rate applied to your top-up is shown to you before you confirm the payment. No guessing, no surprise rates after the fact.
If you are planning a long run, fund enough to cover it before you start. A mid-training shutdown is much more annoying than a slightly larger top-up.
Add funds to your wallet
- Open Billing in the dashboard and choose Top up.
- Pick the payment route that suits you:
- Card (international) — pay in USD with a credit or debit card.
- Bank transfer (Nepal) — pay in NPR through your bank.
- Mobile banking (Nepal) — pay in NPR through your mobile-banking app.
- Enter the amount. The form shows the minimum accepted for the route you picked, and suggests a few common amounts if you do not have a figure in mind.
- Check the summary — the amount, the currency, and the rate applied to your top-up are all shown before you continue.
- Confirm and complete the payment on the provider's page.
If you switch between routes while filling in the form, the amount field resets. That is on purpose: USD and NPR are different currencies, and a stale figure from the previous route would be misleading.
After you pay
When the payment provider confirms, the dashboard shows that the payment was received and your balance updates — usually within a few seconds. Occasionally a confirmation travels slowly:
- If the balance updates right away, you are done.
- If the dashboard says the top-up is still processing, the payment is unconfirmed and may still fail or time out. Check the provider's status, then refresh the dashboard. Do not retry the payment until its status is verified.
- If a completed payment has not appeared after several minutes, do not pay again. Open a support ticket with the amount, the time, and the payment method you used. Support can trace it.
Redeem a coupon code
If ANK gave you a redemption code — for a trial, a grant, or an event — you can add it to your wallet directly:
- Open Billing and choose Redeem.
- Enter the code exactly as it was given to you and confirm.
The code's value lands in your wallet immediately. If the code is rejected, double-check it for typos: codes are case-sensitive and a copy-paste sometimes picks up a stray space. If it still fails, the code may have expired or already been used — support can tell you which.
Where the money goes
Your wallet balance is visible on the billing page at all times. Two other views help you keep track of what you are actually spending:
- Cost breakdown — what your usage added up to over a period, per active instance, so you can see which runs are expensive.
- Settlement history — the record of what has been charged from your wallet, so you can match a balance change to the workload that caused it.
If a number in either view does not match what you expected, note the period and the instance, and bring it to support. We would rather explain a charge than have you wonder about it.
Keeping the wallet healthy
There is no need to keep a large balance — top up what the run needs, plus a little headroom. If you are running anything important overnight or over a weekend, check that the balance covers the hours you will be away.
